7 Angels

This beautiful restaurant resides in a remarkable historic building dating from 1392. Today it's also a very upmarket hotel (suites only). The fabulous decor is enhanced with huge wall murals and large paintings. The ambiance of old Europe at its best is reflected in large mirrors.

The menu features seafood, game, French and Czech specialties. Appetizers like smoked fillet of trout are followed up by chef specialties like chateaubriand. There's even a couple of vegetarian items like vegetable risotto with cheese. Don't forget to leave room for desserts like crepes with fresh strawberries or creme brulee.

My Score:
We went there with about 12 people, the food was ok but just so, the service was "hostile servitude" ... the manager was even very rude to us when we complained about the service. The music was too loud to talk to each other. Forget it! Places like this, the cellar atmosphere, are a dime a dozen in Prague.

My Score:
Older members of staff were very abrupt while the younger members were quite attentive and not as pushy. The food was not of the high standard I had been led to believe it served, quite tasty though even if it was over priced. It really annoyed me when I was informed by a senior member of the staff that they did not take any credit cards even though all the tourist books stated that they did. Also very hot in the dining area, an electric fan just didn't cut it.

My Score:
Very pushy service, pleasant but overrated surroundings and average food. A rip off.
