I think that one of Barcelona's hidden treasures are the menu lunches offered in almost every bar and cafe. The selection of three main and three second plates usuallly includes a decent bottle, or at least carafe of wine.
For lunch here at the Verdi 30 one day, I ordered the potato-green bean dish and my friend, the chicken noodle soup for starters, both were tasty. For the main course we both had the delicious Chicken a la Plancha. We also had no problem drinking the bottle of red wine as it was very good. My dessert was a piece of fresh almond tart, and my friend had flan. Nice friendly service and inexpensive prices too, around 6.50 for a three-course menu!
