Obach Sombrereria

The Obach Sombrereria in Barcelona's Old Town is a gem of a find. Pick out your hat from the window, show the clerk, he measures your head on the spot and whips out a hand-made Spanish hat in exactly the right size, and at a low price.

The selection ranges from the fabulous Toreador hats worn by the bullfighters to more sedate versions suitable for Martin Trip. The Greek Fisherman's cap with a bill and a cord across the front appealed to me, in basic black of course. Fits perfectly, cost: 15 euros. Lined with padded sating and of a quality that should last for years.

Next time you're strolling through Old Town Barcelona be sure to visit this place and check out the hats!

More Info: In Barcelona\\\'s Old Town, open daily except Sundays and for siesta, of course.
