Seven Doors Restaurant, 7 Portes

Since 1836, 7 Portes (The Seven Doors) has been serving up the best paella in Barcelona. Open from 1 pm until 1 am daily, without interruption, this place is popular with tourists looking for that authentic meal, in posh surroundings.

The interior is original, and the piano player adds a lively touch to that cafe feel. Black and white tiled floors, dark wooden panelling, art deco glass doors and windows, and the several different levels and dining rooms inside are great for catching a glimpse of whoever is being seated here and there. The bar is a nice place to hang out, if it isn't too crowded, otherwise expect to stand in a long line out on the sidewalk unless you have a reservation.

The paella was good but not the best I've had in Spain, we had the seafood version. However the BEST paella I ever had was on Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands at Foxy's, but that's ANOTHER story entirely.

My friend got a rash after eating fish at this place, the food does not taste that good, and you can get better quality for less price in other places...

Steak was tasty, but what's with the fries??!! Grease through and through. House salad was not seasoned at all and was bland. Nice atmosphere, but too pricey for the food.
