Albert Cuyp Markt

This wonderful outdoor market stretches for about half a mile down the Albert Cuypstraat. Stalls sell everything from veggies, cheese and fish to cosmetics, clothes and bedding. Some of the best deals in Amsterdam can be found here. It can get very crowded on certain days and times.

The whole area including the Ferdinand Bolstraat and Ceintuurbaan has many interesting shops with good deals on furniture, computers, bagels, haircuts, and lots more!

My Score:
I am a sucker for street markets and this one did not disappoint. It runs along a street covered with shops, so you can shop in actual shops and at tents. Along with the required clothes, gizmos, and miscellanea there were cheese and fish sellers. Quite fun. I went twice during the two weeks I was in Amsterdam. I picked up a cheap robe (so I didn''t have to pack one) and left it behind when I came home. Can''t wait to go back.

My Score:
Good selection of fish, in the middle part of the market, vegetables and fruit also good value for money.

Without doubt, the bets market in Europe. Watch for pickpockets. Great fish shop in first block for cooked fried fish-delicious
