Glimpse the hustling, bustling modern city from a perch 60 meters above the harbor. Walk around the viewing gallery for a vista of not only the city and it&#8217;s major sights, but the mountains to the west, and the Mediterranean sea to the east.<\/p>\n<p>  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> <center><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-661\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hiptravelguide.com\/go\/wp-content\/uploads\/2003\/02\/barceview1.jpg\" border=\"0\" width=\"300\" height=\"223\" \/><\/center> <\/p>\n<p>From up on top you can see La Rambla leading up to the Plaza Catalunya, and the Sagrada Familia and other church towers all over Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p> <center><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-662\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hiptravelguide.com\/go\/wp-content\/uploads\/2003\/02\/barcelonaskyline.jpg\" border=\"0\" width=\"300\" height=\"275\" \/><\/center> <\/p>\n<p>We wonder why Columbus points to Libya and not the New World, but the locals tell us that he&#8217;s just pointing out to sea. From atop the tower you have a great view of Port Vell, Barcelona&#8217;s modernistic new harbour and waterfront.<\/p>\n<p> <center><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-663\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hiptravelguide.com\/go\/wp-content\/uploads\/2003\/02\/barcelonaharbor.jpg\" border=\"0\" width=\"300\" height=\"246\" \/><\/center> <\/p>\n<p>The stone, iron and bronze monument was constructed in 1888 for the Universal Exhibition here in Barcelona. It was built as a reminder to the people of the discovery of America.
